What is the process of a Lie Detector or Polygraph test?
As Charles Rahim will tell you, a typical polygraph examination will include a pre-test, a chart collection phase and a test data analysis phase.
Pre-Test Phase, the polygraph examiner reviews the material and completes required paperwork and formulates test questions in such a way as to elicit clear and complete responses. During this period, the examiner will discuss the questions to be asked and familiarize the examinee with the testing procedure.
Data collection phase is where the sensors are attached to the examinee and the recording process commenced. The questions are read to the examinee several times during the recording process. Typically a minimum of three charts are recorded. After each question is asked a 25 second period follows whereby the instrumentation records autonomic responses to each question.
Post test phase, the examiner will analyse the charts showing the data of physiological responses and makes a determination on whether the person has been deceptive and render an opinion as to the truthfulness of the person taking the test.
The interview skills of the examiner are paramount in ensuring an effective testing process free of ambiguity or doubt. The whole process takes approximately 2.5 - 3 hours. |

The Polygraph is best used to find out if a person has done or not done something in the past for example, cheating, theft, sexual acts, lied, taken drugs or assault. It can be used on almost everyone from young adults(teenagers) upwards.
Private Investigation can also gather information on the past (Factual Investigation) but is often more suited to find out if anything is happening in the present (Surveillance). Sometimes clients use both methods.
REFUND POLICY:
Once a polygraph test has been booked by the funds being deposited into our account there is no refund because simply because the client decides to cancell the test or not turn up.
This is mainly because some people book a polygraph test for lets say next week and then they use that time to gain a confession or part addmission from their the person who is to sit for the test. Then they pull out from the test and say they want their money back as they have not used the service.
However they have used the service to simply gain a confession from the other party even before the test. Also as we normally only do one test a day we would lose bookings from other potential clients on that day so that is why there is no refunds.
In addition we also do a few interstate tests and once flight bookings are made and testing rooms booked there is simply no room for refunds for a no show or cancellation.
If another test is booked within 30 days of the no show then some credit may be given towards the second booking of approximately 25%. This is subject to approval. |
